La noche fue redonda para Guillermo del Toro y su película.
La temporada de premios 2018 hizo una escala en los galardones entregados por los críticos y La Forma del Agua fue la ganadora de la noche, obteniendo cuatro trofeos en total, incluyendo los de Mejor Película y Mejor Director para el mexicano Guillermo del Toro, con lo que se consolida como una de las grandes favoritas rumbo al Oscar.
La 23a. Entrega Anual de los premios que otorga la Broadcast Film Critics Association no tuvo grandes sorpresas, con The Handmaid’s Tale, Sterling K. Brown, Frances McDormand, Gary Oldman y Guillermo del Toro siendo reconocidos por su trabajo; y no hay que dejar de lado a la locomotora llamada Big Little Lies, que sumó cuatro victorias más a su ya extenso y prestigioso palmarés, y es que la serie de HBO es ya completamente invencible.
Guillermo del Toro se consolida cada día más como el gran favorito rumbo al Oscar, y aunque La Forma del Agua consiguió un triunfo muy importante, todavía no puede cantar victoria segura ante las muy fuertes Dunkerque, Tres Anuncios por un Crimen y hasta The Post, pero honestamente las cosas pintan bastante bien para del Toro y su filme.
